Linking to Full-Text Articles from PubMed
For UCD Faculty, Students and Staff\
Do you know that you can link to full-text articles from the PubMed database? Here is what you need to do:
Use this URL to connect to PubMed: http://www.pubmed.gov/query.fcgi?tool=cdl&holding=ucdlib (http://www.pubmed.gov/query.fcgi?tool=cdl&holding=ucdlib)">
Bookmark this URL for future use. By connecting to PubMed via the Health Sciences Libraries' Web pages (http://www.lib.ucdavis.edu/dept/hsl/), you will be linked automatically to this URL.
Change the display format to either Abstract or Citation and click on Display to display results in new format.
Click on the author's or authors' names for a desired article so that the article's abstract will be displayed.
Displaying Abstract or Citation allows you to see icons displayed for use in accessing the full text of articles.
You may see UC Davis' icon featured in the displays of some abstracts. Click on UC Davis' icon in a display to link to the full text of an article that interests you.
IMPORTANT: If you are logged into Cubby, be sure to log out from Cubby. Click on Cubby on the left-hand sidebar and then on Log Out at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar. This is especially important if you are using a computer shared by more than one person, as in the library, because your login will remain active for 12 hours unless you log out from Cubby; the next person(s) to use the computer during those 12 hours could make changes to your stored searches and settings in Cubby.
